Portrait of 4671 Private (Pte) Herbert Alexander Mouat, 6th Battalion. A barman from Poowong, Vic, Pte Mouat embarked from Melbourne aboard HMAT Themistocles (A32) on 28 January 1916. He was wounded in action, receiving a gunshot wound to the spine, on 28 October 1917 and transferred to hospital in England where he later died, on 28 September 1918. An inscription on the back of the postcard reads: "4671 Pte Herbert Alexander Mouat, 6th Battalion, holding the 'Xmas Dinner'. Taken in France."
